Bridgestone Battlax BT-023 Sport Touring Radial Front Tire - Features

  • Consistent performance between touring and sport riding
  • Long wear life, high level of wet performance for touring, and high performance similar to a sport tire
  • Tread pattern, construction and compound provide substantial wear life - 30% longer than Bridgestones's BT-021 tire
  • Mono-Spiral Belt, HTSPC, Silica Rich EX, RC Polymer, and Nano Pro-Tech technologies used to achieve high levels of all-around performance
  • Combination of tread pattern and compound supports stable cornering even in wet conditions
  • Strong stability in high speed cruising, with grip and steering control like a sport tire in “sport mode” riding
  • Confident and comfortable riding with solid mileage for touring
  • Comfortable cruising for touring with good bump absorption and less noise
  • Richer feedback and a more secure contact feel in all conditions
  • This motorcycle tire is tubeless
  • These sport touring motorcycle tires are W rated for speeds up to 168 mph

    Tire Compound:
  • Silica Rich EX: Increased Silica composition in the compound at a ratio higher than Silica Rich to provide solid wet performance
  • RC Polymer: A specific Nano Pro-Tech butadiene rubber that is specifically designed to react with silica, improving tread flexibility to provide enhanced wet traction and long wear life
  • Nano Pro-Tech: Is a Bridgestone proprietary technology that controls the interaction between polymer, filler materials (carbon black, silica) and other rubber chemicals at the molecular level
  • Silica Rich Ex compound and RC polymer offer strong wet performance and wear life

    Tire Construction:
  • Mono-Spiral Belt construction: A continuous single strand of cord is wrapped around the circumference and serves as a belt of a tire, eliminating overlapping of belts, seams, and joints
  • Mono-Spiral Belt construction makes the tire lighter than conventional multi cross belt construction, has more stability since it minimizes heat generation inside the tire, and gives high shock absorption
  • High Tensile Super Penetrated Cord (HTSPC): Features a 1X5 filament, rubber insulated steel Mono-Spiral Belt allowing more flexibility than other types of the steel used by competitors, reduces heat generation, and provides stability without deteriorating shock absorption
  • Steel belt construction provides good bump absorption, grip and stability during high speed riding

    Tread Pattern:
  • Angle groove arrangement provides excellent wear life
  • V groove in center area provides rich contact feel when braking
  • T groove provides linear handling

Available in the following motorcycle tire sizes: 110/70ZR-17, 120/60ZR-17, 120/70ZR-17, 110/80ZR-18, 120/70ZR-18, and 110/80ZR-19

Bridgestone Battlax BT-023 Sport Touring Radial Front Tire - Reviews

Review this product
great touring tire
Review by Alvaro from derby, KY on 4/24/2011
My wife and I just got back from a 2400 trip. We went to Texas to visit her family and back. This Bridgestone BT-23 didn't let us down. We were able to enjoy riding without the worry of the rubber below us. We definitely will buy another BT-23.

Good tire
Review by Ralph L Angelo Jr from Long Island, NY on 7/23/2011
A very good handling, reliable sport touring tire that lays down lots of mileage and sticks to the ground reliably, without coming with a ridiculous price tag. I've used this tires predecessors for years, and this new model seems like a step in the right direction handling-wise.

Great Tire
Review by Dan Stayner from Youngstown, NY on 8/22/2011
Grip with this tire has been very good. I don't readily notice much difference from the BT-021, its predecessor which came on the my 2009 Concours 14. I am hoping that it has gained some improved wear over the BT-021, since I wore that one out with only 4500 miles on it. The rear tire, which I replace earlier this season due to a nail puncture, does seem to be wearing well with about 2000 miles on it so far.

I came off michelien's Road Pilots. Very different feel. BT's like to get on the edge more quickly. Surprised me. Took about a tank of gas to get use to the difference. My Gixxer 1k seems to like these.

I commute 150 miles a day on my BMW K1200S. I can't afford to be changing tires all the time but still need tires that will perform in different conditions. These fit the bill and though I do like a "spirited " ride I can still get 15000 miles on a set. Highly recommended.

2005 Yamaha FZ6
Review by Michael Arisio from Norwalk, CT on 6/12/2012
Excellent tires overall. Bridgestone has been the sole provider for tires in MotoGP for the last 4 years, who wouldn't want whats on the track. First ride home with these was in the rain, they lock onto wet pavement no problem. My bike felt brand new when I first rode in dry weather, smooth sailing in the straights and dips into twisties nicely. Great bump absorption too. Can't comment on tread life yet, only had them on for a few hundred miles. Chaparral has the best price for the combo!

Review by honestlyinsane from blandford, MA on 8/5/2012
I bought these to see if I could get some more tread life out of tires on my zx14. This remains to be seen. As far as what I can comment on. The tires were great after break in. I also had to run them at a lower pressure than normal, maybe because the tire was a little stiffer. 750 miles on the tire and no complaints. I think I paid 315.00 for the set. Couldn't go wrong. lets see how long they last.

Great tires on my ST1100. Cornering is extremely well and tight. Haven't had them long enough to know the wear, but other reviews say they're very good.

Seems like a great tire so far in all areas, but I have to wait a little longer to see how tread wear is. I would recommend this tire.

I just bought another one. I run this tire on a Triumph 1050 Sprint. I got over 13,000 miles out of the first one. Had confidence in the wet right up to the end. I do some touring and it worked great in the mountains.

Eligibility

This Limited Warranty covers BRIDGESTONE brand motorcycle tires and only applies to the original purchaser and is valid if all of the following apply:

  • The tire was purchased after January 1, 2010.
  • The tire is of a size that is specified for use by the vehicle manufacturer or Bridgestone.
  • The tire has been used only on the vehicle on which it was originally installed.

What Is Warranted And For How Long

If, before wearing down to 1/32 inch (0.8 mm) of remaining original tread depth (i.e., worn down to the top of the built-in indicators in the tread grooves), and within 4 years from the date of purchase (proof of purchase required; without proof of purchase, then 4 years from the date of manufacture — referenced by the last four digits of the DOT number), for any reason other than those excluded in the section entitled “What This Limited Warranty Does Not Cover,” any eligible tire becomes unusable for any reason within the manufacturer’s control, such tire will be replaced with an equivalent new Bridgestone tire on the basis set forth in this Limited Warranty.

What This Limited Warranty Does Not Cover

  1. Tires with less than 1/32nd of an inch of original tread depth remaining (i.e., worn down to the top of the built-in indicators in the tread grooves).
  2. Tire damage or irregular wear due to:
    • Road hazards, including, without limitation: Puncture, cut, impact break, stone drill, bruise, bulge, snag, etc.
    • Improper use or operation, including, without limitation: Improper inflation pressure, overloading, tire / wheel spinning, use of an improper wheel, tire chain damage, misuse, misapplication, negligence, tire alteration, or use for racing or competition purposes.
    • Insufficient or improper maintenance, including, without limitation: Wheel misalignment, improper brake adjustment, worn suspension components, improper tire mounting or demounting, tire/wheel assembly imbalance, or other vehicle conditions, defects, or characteristics.
    • Contamination or degradation after purchase by petroleum products or other chemicals, fire or other externally generated heat, or water or other material trapped inside the tire during mounting or inflation.
    • Improper repair. Improper repair voids this Limited Warranty.
  3. Rapid tread wear or wear-out. Motorcycle tires have no mileage warranty.
  4. Weather/ozone cracking after 4 years from the date of manufacture.
  5. Ride disturbance or vibration after 1/32 inch (0.8mm) of tread wear use.
  6. Tires with sealant, balance, or other filler material that was not originally applied or inserted by the tire manufacturer.
  7. Tires fitted with used, damaged, or incorrect size inner tubes.
  8. Tires purchased as used.

  11. Tires used on motorcycles fitted with trailers.
  12. Tires inflated with anything other than air, nitrogen or carbon dioxide.
  13. Replacement Price

Free Replacement Period: Motorcycle tires adjusted under this Limited Warranty will be replaced free of charge during the first 50% of tread wear or within 12 months of the date of purchase (proof of purchase required; without proof of purchase, then within 12 months from date of manufacture), whichever occurs first.

After the free tire replacement period, the tire will be replaced for a pro-rated charge. To determine the replacement price, the dealer will multiply the current dealer selling price of the tire (in effect at the time of adjustment) by 50%. The cost of mounting, balancing, and other service charges, disposal fees, or applicable taxes are payable by the consumer.

A CASH REFUND WILL NOT BE OFFERED IN LIEU OF THE ABOVE.

    Where To Go For Replacement

If the tire was fitted as original equipment, it should be presented to the retailer from whom the motorcycle was purchased. With the exception of mail order tires, tires that were not fitted as original equipment may be presented to any authorized Bridgestone retailer. A mail order tire must be returned to the company from which it was ordered and the consumer must pay all associated shipping and handling costs.

    Owner’s Responsibilities

Part of this responsibility is maintaining proper tire inflation pressure and load as recommended by the motorcycle manufacturer and in accordance with restrictions molded on tire sidewalls. Inflation pressure should be checked frequently with a tire gauge and the tire should be regularly inspected for damage or irregular wear.
    • Owner must present to any authorized Bridgestone motorcycle tire dealer or agent the tire for which he or she is seeking warranty consideration and proof of purchase. (Consult a telephone directory for the nearest authorized Bridgestone motorcycle tire dealer)
    • Owner must pay all applicable dealer service charges and taxes.
    • Owner must complete and sign the customer section of the Bridgestone Limited Warranty Form.
    • The motorcycle on which the tire was equipped must also be available for inspection by an authorized dealer.
