Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S20 Ultra-High Performance Radial Rear Tire - Features

  • Ultra-high performance radials designed to achieve high handling performance and easier cornering using tread patterns and construction technology from MotoGP
  • Quick warm-up, even in low temperatures, and works well in cool conditions
  • Improved grip in a wider range of temperatures, at tire warm-up, and when wet, compared to Bridgestone Battlax BT-016 Pro tires
  • Optimized tread compounds improve dry handling with high mileage maintained
  • Performance is maintained throughout the life of the tire
  • Achieves a higher level of wet performance than Bridgestone Battlax BT-016 Pro tires, due to the tread patterns and rubber compounds
  • Mono-Spiral Belt, Silica Rich EX, RC Polymer, and Nano Pro-Tech technologies used to achieve high levels of all-around sport bike performance
  • This motorcycle tire is tubeless
  • These sport touring motorcycle tires are W rated for speeds up to 168 mph

    Tire Compounds:
  • Dual Compound (3LC) is used for both front and rear tires
  • 3LC (3 Layer Compound) provides grip performance demanded in every aspect and all riding modes
  • Center compound offers linear handling, while the shoulder compound secures high grip and solid contact feeling
  • Silica Rich EX: Increased Silica composition ratio higher than Silica Rich to provide solid wet performance
  • RC Polymer: A specific Nano Pro-Tech butadiene rubber that is specifically designed to react with silica, improving tread flexibility to provide enhanced wet traction and long wear life
  • Nano Pro-Tech: Is a Bridgestone proprietary technology that controls the interaction between polymer, filler materials (carbon black, silica) and other rubber chemicals at the molecular level
  • High grip levels from rubber compounds work in a wider range of temperatures

    Tire Construction:
  • Mono-Spiral Belt construction: A continuous single strand of cord is wrapped around the circumference and serves as a belt of a tire, eliminating overlapping of belts, seams, and joints
  • Mono-Spiral Belt construction makes the tire lighter than conventional multi cross belt construction, has more stability since it minimizes heat generation inside the tire, and gives high shock absorption
  • High Tensile Super Penetrated Cord (HTSPC): Features a 1X5 filament, rubber insulated steel Mono-Spiral Belt allowing more flexibility than other types of the steel used by competitors, reduces heat generation, and provides stability without deteriorating shock absorption
  • Steel belt construction provides good bump absorption, grip and stability during high speed riding

    Tread Pattern:
  • Wider tread grooves improve cornering as well as wet and dry grip
  • Straight center grooves improve cornering at low lean angles, especially at turn-in
  • Improved initial grip by maintaining contact area at the all lean angles
  • Contact patch is optimized to improve contact with the road

Test Results vs Bridgestone Battlax BT-016 Pro Hypersport Radial Tires:
  • Achieved high cornering stability by improving rear and front grip
  • Achieved sportier handling
  • Achieved wet weather stability by improving grip
  • Achieved better control in all wet weather conditions

Bridgestone S20
Review by Dave S from Ann Arbor, MI on 8/6/2012
This is my first set of Bridgestones. I was a little nervous to switch tires as I have been using Pirelli Diablo Rosso II's for the last couple of years. A very good tire. Anyway, I bought a set and straight of S20's. The first few miles I was unsure I made the right decision. Until you wear off the form release the Bridstones are slippery so tread careful until you break them in. The rear tire is a tad firmer than the Pirelli but I would rate the compliance very good. Turn in is light but it doesn't fall in at all. I get very good communication from both tires. The grip is better than any street biased tire I have used so far period. They are better than the Pirelli, and the Michelin 2CT's. I ride an 05 ZX10R and I have yet to break them loose on the street and I ride aggressive. They give you great confidence. I feel like I can trail break deep into the corner with no fear of loosing the front either. I didn't think it was possible but they are way better than my Pirelli's. If they last as long I have found my new favorite tire. This is an excellent tire so don't be afraid to try them.

Impressed
Review by Dewayne from Murfreesboro, TN on 10/12/2012
I ride a 2012 BMW S1000RR, I do a lot of straight line and twisty riding. My bike came with the Metzler K3's, an amazing tire, they lasted 1,800 miles. I decided to try the new H20's, I have over 8k miles on my bike for this season, and I just ordered my second set of the H20's. Pretty impressed with these tires and Chaparral prices. Will definitely be a returning customer.

Review by Daniel from Walnut, CA on 12/11/2012
For the price of this tire. I would say its pretty good and cheap. Mileage on this was 6,500 miles. Used on a 2008 CBR1000RR. Mostly commuted on freeways. 20% on Canyon roads. These get pretty sticky and warm fast! I just bought a second set for the rear. I was hoping to hit at least 8000 miles on it. But for the price of this tire, hitting 6,500 is good enough.

Bad-Ass Tire
Review by Bogy from Alexandria, VA on 6/17/2013
Currently I'm riding a 2012 Ninja 1000 and just purchased a second rear tire. Tread life (on the street) is really good, I got just over 6,700 miles off the rear and still have plenty of life on the front, should hit about 10k. Tires heat up quick and stick to the road like snot on a child's face. Unlike other tires out there, namely the 2CT's or the Diablo's, this tire does not suddenly fall into a turn after a certain lean angle is reached so they require a little more push on the bars to get the bike over but I don't consider this an issue as I'm NOT on the track. This is a fantastic tire at a great price!

What Is Warranted And For How Long

If, before wearing down to 1/32 inch (0.8 mm) of remaining original tread depth (i.e., worn down to the top of the built-in indicators in the tread grooves), and within 4 years from the date of purchase (proof of purchase required; without proof of purchase, then 4 years from the date of manufacture — referenced by the last four digits of the DOT number), for any reason other than those excluded in the section entitled “What This Limited Warranty Does Not Cover,” any eligible tire becomes unusable for any reason within the manufacturer’s control, such tire will be replaced with an equivalent new Bridgestone tire on the basis set forth in this Limited Warranty.

  11. Tires used on motorcycles fitted with trailers.
  12. Tires inflated with anything other than air, nitrogen or carbon dioxide.
  13. Replacement Price

Free Replacement Period: Motorcycle tires adjusted under this Limited Warranty will be replaced free of charge during the first 50% of tread wear or within 12 months of the date of purchase (proof of purchase required; without proof of purchase, then within 12 months from date of manufacture), whichever occurs first.

After the free tire replacement period, the tire will be replaced for a pro-rated charge. To determine the replacement price, the dealer will multiply the current dealer selling price of the tire (in effect at the time of adjustment) by 50%. The cost of mounting, balancing, and other service charges, disposal fees, or applicable taxes are payable by the consumer.

A CASH REFUND WILL NOT BE OFFERED IN LIEU OF THE ABOVE.

    Where To Go For Replacement

If the tire was fitted as original equipment, it should be presented to the retailer from whom the motorcycle was purchased. With the exception of mail order tires, tires that were not fitted as original equipment may be presented to any authorized Bridgestone retailer. A mail order tire must be returned to the company from which it was ordered and the consumer must pay all associated shipping and handling costs.

    Owner’s Responsibilities
