Durable and safe

I have used the same stock tire since I bought my bike in 2002. I find it to be durable and safe. The price is great and I will continue to use this tire. Several weeks ago a Harley dealer warned me that I needed another tire now. I have now rode an additional 1700 miles and have felt safe and the tire still grips the road in wet weather. That said I am ready to purchase a new one.

Great Tires

I commuted 90 miles a day on a 1988 FXRS in the foot hills near Yosemite. I tried Metzlers and many others the Dunlop 402 gave me the best mileage for a rear tire. I just recently purchased a 2005 FLT road glide it came with a brand new Metzler rear tire I barely got 6k out of it. Replaced it with a MU85B-16 402 Elite I've got over 7500 miles on it and its not even down to the wear bars yet. I worked on the city's police bikes which were Harleys in the 1990's and the MC's came with 402 touring elites the reason was the bead on the tire came up flush with the rim of the wheel and they were really hard to get of the bead. One officer got a flat while chasing another MC through a field and the tire never came of the wheel. I'm sold on these tires.

My 2007 bagger has 107 k miles on it. I have put 15 tires on the rear and the D402 rear tires handle better and last longer than any other that I have tried. With the D402 I average 8k miles. Sometimes the designers get it right the first time.
