Needed a new lid for my Goldwing. Looked at open face/full face & half helmets. I found full face models hot & too closed in. Half helmets, aah and open face models nothing special. When I ride my dirt bike with a full face mx helmet, I liked the more open eye port and the wind it allows in. So I thought about DS type helmets and came across this Fly Racing Trekker helmet. I liked the style and price. I wanted a helmet with a sun visor and a flip down wind visor. Was worried the xxl might not fit my x-large melon. But it's ok, fit a little snug at first. But loosening up after a few rides. Cheeks pads squeeze my face a bit, but losing a few lbs. might help and a little more break in time. Quality is decent, about equal to HJC. So is it ok for Goldwing rider to wear a DS type helmet? I don't care, it works for me. Someone has to break new ground.
Better than I though

Good fit, nice design, descent quality, better than the price would suggest.

This helmet is absolutely great! I wear glasses and always have problems with goggles, any goggles, now I have my trekker helmet and the fit, finish and low cost does not mean to sacrifice safety! This is a high quality, beautifully finished and an excellent value. I ride off road and my son races, I'm not slow, I live to ride another day and now I can ride so much more. This was the best purchase for a helmet I've made in years, need to come out with a red one. All other colors are there but no red.

Perfect for when I need to ride on the freeway to get to the trail. Having the full shield helps reduce the wind and noise. Also I like that I can wear goggles and use the shield at the same time. The visor looks good and does not pull your head around at high speeds as much as a typical off road helmet. The visor does feel a little cheap to me, like it will shatter upon the first impact, but replacements are only 20 bucks. Overall, a great helmet for the money spent.
