On May 31, 2010 I rode one of these into the ground after a car pulled in front of me and stopped without benefit of brake lights. As I laid the bike down on the left it highsided throwing me some 30+ feet and landing on the back of my head. Although K.O.'d and scrambled for awhile, by the next day I was near 100% and have since fully recovered. The helmet did an excellent job of absorbing the impact and minimizing the closed head injury "brain bounce" I suffered.
I have replaced the crashed helmet with a new one of the same (as you should after any severe impact to a helmet). Spend $800.00 on a Shoei and look good going down the rode or put the extra money into a really good set of leathers and trust your head to HJC.
