Pilot Road 2 Tires

I have used these tires on several different bikes BMW K 1200 RS BMW R 1100 S Ducati ST4s.I live at the base of the Rocky Mountains and I ride the mountain quite a bit. I also ride slab with these too.I have never felt a loss of traction in any condition not even in the rain. The fact that I keep using these tires says how I feel about them. I still haven't felt the need to pay the price difference to try the newer Pilot roads.I get about 7000 miles out of a set even on the heavier K 1200.
Pros: :
  • Excellent Traction

I previously rode with pilot power's front and rear and was impressed with the dual compound technology (especially for street riding). I did however begin to use my ZX-7R for commuting more than play and I wanted to get longer tread life. This is my second purchase of the Road 2 for my rear (I still use the power up front) and I am highly impressed with it's traction (wet and dry) longevity (14k+ miles of semi-aggressive highwaystreet) and stability. Only once have I had the tire break away from me and that was in the rain as I was merging from a highway on-ramp to the highway at faster than necessary speeds. The tire is sticky enough for play on the sides and hard enough in the center for highway longevity. This dual purpose tire works well. I give it an A+.

I ride a 2008 Kawasaki Concours Sport Tourer. I ride "aggressively". The Michelin Pilot Road handles everything I can throw at it. It sticks like glue on dry pavement and extremely stable. Wet weather traction during Florida torrential rains is excellent. I also got almost 10k miles out of them. Much better than the Bridgestones POSs that came from the factory. Admittedly they are a bit pricey but truly worth it. I can't wait for the next gen PR3s.

Tire stick well but has a lot of road noise. Riding straight is tolerable but as soon as you lean there is noise that sounds like a bearing growl.
