Fantastic Tire

Fantastic tire. I have around 10K miles on it on my VFR800 with about 12 the tread left. Those miles are commuting and a few long trips thru lots of twisties and includes a track day. Great grip. No chicken strips left and solid handling. Kept up with the sport bikes thru the turns. Ridden in the rain a few times with no noticeable sliding and good braking. May try a Pilot Road 4 when this one does need replacing but I don't think it can be much better than this tire.
Pros: :
  • Excellent Traction

~ 128900 miles and the only negative is "when is it worn out?" The lack of wear bars may have me changing out the tire before I really need to. I know that the mileage is excellent but could it be useful for another 1000 miles?

These are a big improvement over the PRs and The PRII. They felt a bit odd at first and had a long break in to get rid of the slick feel about 300mi even after carefully scuffing them in. Then they became a very nice set of tires. I have commuted on them a little but mainly east Tn twisty roads. The rear has very predictable slide qualities and a very even feel to the grip from the center to the edge. The front has had good feel and grip as well. This is nice as the previous roads had about zippo feedback till they let go. I am replacing the set now I WAS HOPING FOR 6000mi BUT as usual 4500mi they are toast. The front would last longer based on the tread depth but it cupped (if you trail brake deep to the apex of the turns the front will be hurt). The rear did very well but this tire goes from looking solid to showing cords very quickly this is dif

tires stick great

The tires stick great. Turning is effortless and stopping has no slippage. I haven't ridden them in rain yet so no idea about how much the siping does for traction in that environment yet. Haven't owned long enough to give a rating on tread life either. I can say that Michelin performance has never let me down in the past though and I don't think these tires will let me down either based on everything I read prior to purchasing.

A supper tire

I have 2 Yamaha FJ1200 and both have PR3 tires. I have 5000 plus miles on the PR3 tires between the two motorcycles. A lot of the miles in the rain. These are the best all around tire I have ever used. The tires show no ware yet. Cornering in the wet is very good. A supper tire.
