Tread depth

Watched the video and they say that this tire has a tread depth of 78". Don't know who showed them how to measure. I bought this tire thinking of long mileage cause of tread depth; it's only about 38". The video is deceiving.

GREAT TIRE!!!

I've been running the stock Harley Dunlop tire on my Nightster since I've owned it. So I've worn through two now. I just got this Pirelli MT66 tire put on yesterday and I am stoked on it. I ride about 100 miles a day back and forth to work and I had a CBR before I got my Nightster and always thought the way it road was just how Harleys rode. I didn’t know any better. It road real loose and I always drifted in corners. But after riding this MT66 I know it had to have been the stock tire. The MT66 sticks great and corners really well. Now if it can last longer then 5000 miles I'll keep buying this tire from now on.
Pros: :
  • Excellent Traction

Pirelli MT66

The Pirelli MT66 is available in size 18070-15 which is used on the rear of a few metric cruisers. The only other manufacturers that make 18070-15 tires are Metzler Bridgestone and Shinko. Having tried them all the Pirelli is the best of the lot for cornering and long life. Others either wear too fast have poor traction in the rain or stiffen as the tire ages. But if Dunlop made a D404 in 18070-15 I'd buy it for the superior cornering over the longer life of the Pirelli.

So Far So Good

The tire is on a 04 Vulcan 1500 classic. Only have about 200 miles on them so far this year. Cornering feels good. I try not to get caught in the rain. I don't get the sloppyfishtailing feeling when going into a corner. Like I said I like 'em so far.
