General Sizing information

If you are unsure about your size, compare your body measurements to the charts provided to determine the correct fit. These charts will give you a good idea of the size to order, but be sure to read special sizing information that may accompany an item description. Some merchandise dimensions may vary from the averages charted here.

Helmet and Fitment Checks

Measure around your head at the temple above the eyebrow. Next, follow these fitment checks.
  • With the helmet in place and chin strap secured, shake your head side to side, if the helmet moves independently of your head then the helmet is too big. When performing this test, the helmet liner and cheek pads should be in direct contact with your skin. While shaking, your skin should move with the helmet.
  • Place one hand directly behind your head and push forward. Use your other hand and try to slip your little finger between your forehead and the helmet EPS liner. If you are able to slip your finger in, the helmet is too big.
  • To test for helmet lift, place one hand on the chin bar and push up (while the chin strap is secured), if the helmet comes off your head, it is too big. Next, place one hand on the back and push up again, if your helmet lifts off your head, it is too big.

EXO-900 Helmet
Review by Gord W from Vancouver, BC on 3/17/2013
This is a great helmet. I have used it for a full season now. Previously I was using an open face HJC so it is quite different in terms of air flow. However, riding on cold mornings is much more pleasant now. On a hot day, it is nice to be able to "transform" it back to a 3/4 open face helmet but I have only done that once. I generally ride with the visor open because I am behind a windshield (ST1300), but the airflow is ok even when behind the windshield. With the windshield in the lowest position and the helmet is fully in the airflow, the top vent can be a little noisy when open. I use a Bluetooth intercom with two speakers. It installed nicely into the liner. I can easily hear my pillion, my music or talk on my phone at highway speeds. I generally wear ear plugs and turn up the volume because I don't like any wind noise but without ear plugs it is acceptable as well. The flip down visor gets some bad reviews because people think it's not dark enough but it is good for my use. During the day I can wear sunglasses and flip down the extra shade if riding into the sun. Overall I am impressed with the helmet and would buy another one. It fits smaller than others though so buy one size bigger than you would with other brands or try before you buy.
