I ride a KLR650 and do most of my riding commuting back and forth to work. I got about 5000 miles on the stock rear tires before they wore out. I decided to try these tires and I was impressed. I've now got just under 2500 on the rear tire and the tread wear is minimal. The cornering, traction and stability of this tire over the stock one is amazing. I could tell the difference immediately after putting it on. The tire just sticks and never slips. The tire provide a real confidence boost when you're cornering on such a tall bike. For the price these tires way out perform the stock ones. I'm now just waiting for the stock front tire to wear out so I can put one of these up front.

Bought the tires because of the great price but quickly found out that they are decent tires. A few friends had them on their BMW and they perform well. Great deal for the money!

I've run two 130/80-17 rears and a 90/90-21 front on my Transalp and have been quite pleased with these Shinko 705's. Both rears went nearly 7k inflated to 38-40psi and only pulled the front to try a different brand/set of tires. The 705's were great for me on pavement at speeds up to 90mph and on dirt/gravel roads up to 60mph. They don't do very well in muddy conditions but anyone that's really not what they are designed for.
Shinko had some problems with the 705 in the 150-17 bias ply but is replacing the bias ply with a radial design to hopefully end the problems.

Fast and cheap shipping, great price, easy tire to mount. Haven't had a chance to drive the bike since mounting the tire, but other reviews were positive so I tried it.

So far, I ride aggressively on pavement and dirt roads, it sticks on pavement and slide predictably on the dirt, no complaints.

This is the third time i had this tire come apart on me. I use it a lot on the street KLR650 and once a while off road. I also have Shinko on my cruiser and had trouble with them The thread comes off the carcass or tears in between the threads. I have never had this much trouble with one brand of tires. I have been riding for over 30 years and this brand always fails. I will never buy this brand again. The best part of this bad tire is Chapparal has always took them back and took care of me. Chapparal is first class. Shinko Sucks

My favorite rear tire for my DR650. Great touring rubber, very quick turn in and really nice grip. The tread is deep for a mild tire and it wears well when properly inflated for the bike. I run about 26 psi in the rear, always get 5,500 or more miles from one on my twisty and rough roads.
