Superbike Testing Finishes Its Second Day At Jerez
For the second day in a row, Kawasaki’s Tom Sykes recorded the fastest time of World Superbike’s winter testing session. Sykes overcame a small crash in the middle of the day as well as a strong push from Aprilia’s Sylvain Guintoli, who posted the second-fastest time, MotoMatters reports.

The Honda motorsports team was also on the track, including its new factory riders Jonathan Rea and Leon Haslam. Rea, who won two World Superbike races in the past season, focused on testing out new electronics and fine-tuning the system. Haslam, a recent addition to the Honda team, spent the majority of his time getting reacquainted to the bike.

“I haven’t ridden at Jerez for about 10 years, and that was on a 125, but it’s a really fun circuit and I like riding here,” said Rea. “I was only doing installation laps with the new electronics so [I] didn’t get a chance to really push with it…I’m definitely looking forward to testing here again in January.”

Although Honda has wrapped up its testing, there is one more day remaining for Superbike manufacturers to hit the track. Ducati and BMW are expected to join Aprilia and Kawasaki for the final tests before the winter break, the news source reports.
