Zero Motorcycles App Controls Bike's Performance

Zero Motorcycles, one of the leading brands for electric bikes, recently released a smartphone app that allows users to personalize the riding experience.

Zero Motorcycles, one of the leading manufacturers of electric bikes, recently released a smartphone app that allows users to personalize their riding experience.

When a bike is parked, users can access lifetime information for the machine, allowing them to keep track of things like wear and tear on tires, battery life and even how much gas money or carbon dioxide they have saved by investing in an electric motorcycle. Even if the bike is in motion, an owner can monitor battery charge and other essential data.

“The Zero Motorcycles app marks the first time in history that a production motorcycle’s top speed, torque and regenerative braking can be easily adjusted by an owner in seconds,” said Scot Harden, vice president of marketing for the brand. “Not only is it fun, it also results in a riding experience that is truly customized to meet the unique needs of every individual.”

The app will be compatible with all 2013 models of Zero Motorcycles, as well as any future creations, Motorcycle.com reports. Each bike boasts Bluetooth capabilities that allow information stored in the bike to be sent to various devices, and riders can then sort through data regarding their batteries, internal temperatures and more, Slashgear reports.
