Dunlop Elite 4 Radial Rear Tire - Details

Mileage, mileage and more mileage: Dunlop's Elite 4 touring tires, with MT Multi-Tread technology built into the rear tires, provide significantly more mileage than single compound tires.

  • Radial construction for high mileage, even wear characteristics, and great grip
  • Rear tires utilize Dunlop's MT Multi-Tread technology, providing increased mileage without sacrificing handling
  • Long-wearing compound in the center of the tire and a lateral-grip compound on each shoulder
  • Aggressive tread pattern developed from Dunlop's famous cosecant-curve design used in their DOT race tires and Sportmax family of performance tires
  • Tread pattern helps provide class leading wet pavement performance, even wear over the life of the tire, and less road noise
  • Fits hundreds of touring, cruiser and standard street bikes - including current and non-current machines
  • This motorcycle tire is tubeless
  • These touring motorcycle tires are H rated for speeds up to 130 mph
  • Made in the USA

Don't believe the advertising hype!!!
The advertisement said the Elite 4 would go coast to coast 6 times. That's about 18,000 miles. I ordered the rear tire before release but didn't mount on my '07 GL1800 until 6-11-2016 at 71,659 miles. On 9-25-2016 and 76,764 miles I took it off. It was shot on the side treads Both sides where worn out with only 5,105 mile on the tire. There is still tread in the center of the tire. I noticed when I got the tire that it didn't have the same amount of side tread as the other tires I had run in the past but thought that it was due to the new design. The tire made turning quicker but it also made the bike drag really quickly too since there wasn't the tread thickness on the sides. My kick stand is now ground half way through now too. I had to adjust the rear shock all the way up to get a little more ground clearance while cornering, even riding solo. I'm a stickler for tire pressure and keep my tires inflated to the maximum cold PSI to keep them "hard". I have an aftermarket TP monitor to assist in tire pressure checking also. I noticed feathering or cupping on the side tread at 3,100 miles but had no idea that there was only another 2,000 left in the tires.Im very disappointed with this tire and do not recommend it to anyone wanting a long distance touring tire. I paid $237 for it when I purchased it. I expected it to last about a year not 3 months!
Pros: :
  • quicker turns
Cons: :
  • FALSE ADVERTISING by manufacturer
