Bang for Buck Surprise

I ride a V-Strom 1000. The tires look very mean on the bike. The tires scared me on the first corner, they really do fall in aggressively. Tires hold the line in corners and stay planted. The tires don't follow grooves in the pavement and I can let go of the bars and ride for miles with 42 Lbs. of pressure in the tires. I just road 2 up and packed heavy in 35 degrees C for 2500 KM and I still have over half the tread left. I'm hard on tires, riding 120 - 140 KMHR. I hear tread wine at 80 and 150 KMHr. I think the wide tread pattern may help the tires run cooler. Tires are stable at 200 KMHr. I have only rode about 50 KM on gravel but was able to do 80 KMHR easily. I have found only one knobby to have a chip out of it. My last tire was a cruiser tire and I was at cords at 3500KM. I'm sticking with Full Bore USA now!
Pros: :
  • Agressive look
  • Long life
  • Surprising Traction
  • Very stable even under heavy load
Cons: :
  • Noisey at certain speeds
  • complaints from bikes following about tires throw lots of rocks

Great Value

I replaced the Metzeler Tourance and at about half the cost the Full Bore is a terrific value. It works as well or even better off road and nearly as well on the highway.

Very Satisfied

These tires were used on a Yamaha Tenere 1200. I got a solid 10000mi with plenty of tread remaining. The noise at hwy speeds became annoying after 9000mi but ride quality remained good. The 1st 50 miles felt odd almost like a low or flat tire sensation when turning in. Afterwards I felt comfortable leaning into turns at speed. Wet road traction was good although I never really push it hard when wet. Offroad handling was much better than a stock Bridgestone TrailWing. Very good tire for the price.

Hoping for the best

Really hard to corner at first. I hope it improves. I bought both front and rear for my GS1200. Only time will tell. Fire roads here I come!
