Great for singletrack of all types.

I ride a KLX 300 R. I have run this tire for approx. 10 months, and even with the soft rubber compound I see almost zero tread wear. I wanted to try a trials tire, but I found this and decided to give it a shot. I really enjoy this tire. I run it at around 12 - 15 psi depending on the type of riding I am going to do. I did have the tire come off of the bead once, but it was my fault. I put the tire down to 10 psi (using tubes) going over fast (large) rocky stuff. I have since put in a heavy duty tube and have kept the tire at 12.5 psi and It gets the job done while still being "squishy" and "firm" at the same time. This tire will form around whatever you are riding on. The only thing that this tire is lacking in is the straight like dig that a traditional knobby gives you. (like when you hit the throttle hard the tire may tend to spin a little bit rather than dig.) With that said, once the tire gets warmed up a bit the spin is reduced. You can still spin the tire on purpose, but if you are trying to, this tire will provide you with incredible traction. I have literally stopped going up and down on hills that you cannot walk up or down. The tire's rubber compound is like gecko toes! (I ride in North Carolina) Conditions here range from soft loamy sand, to slippery pine needle covered forest, to hard-pack and non packed Carolina clay, to intermediate forest single track with wet roots and rocks. The tire will still pack with mud if you don't maintain a decent travel speed in really deep nasty stuff, but any tire will unless it is a soft terrain tire. I look forward to trying this tire in the future with the Tubless system.
Pros: :
  • Incredible traction
Cons: :
  • less dig than traditional knobby

Great tire!

The only time the tire didn't hook up was exiting the corner while the bike was still pitched. I had to be smooth on the throttle until the bike was upright.
Pros: :
  • Works great in slippery conditions
Cons: :
  • Needs more side bite.

I've been riding trials since the late 70's, so when looking for a tire for my GasGas enduro I generally look at true trials tires. This tire had those characteristics but with the added benefit of certain benefits of a knobby. Sure, you have to give up something to gain something, but I think this tire works great for my needs. The price is great, also. Way better than a $170 Michelin. Though hard to beat a Michelin for an actual trials tire.
Pros: :
  • Price
  • Ease of mounting
  • Works in most all terrain
Cons: :
  • Not much

I have had this tire on my ktm xcw250 for 5 races now and want to say the tire has been great. Even after 5 race the tire is still in real good condition, I will still continue to race this tire for a few more races. It handles really well in a wide range of conditions including mud and rocky trails. I would recommend this tire to anybody.
Pros: :
  • Longevity
  • Great Traction
  • handling

I see a lot of these on dual sport bikes in the local mountains. Do they work better than a standard off road knobby in this terrain?
