Commander II rear radial tire

This is my first try for the Michelin tire and I'll continue buying them. So far I have over 12,000 miles on the rear! Best mileage previous was 9000 on another brand. Now I can buy just 2 tires a year instead of 3.
Pros: :
  • longevity
  • traction

Michelin Commander ll Rear tire

Overall good tire. Price is about 25% above most other radial motorcycle tires. Tire life is no better than Avon. Michelin does not offer a radial front tire in size 130/70-18 for my OEM Yamaha Stratoliner. Therefore I will stick with Avon.
Pros: :
  • Great rear tire
Cons: :
  • 70-18 for rear

Michelin vs Dunlop

I've used both brands on my '07 Harley Softail. I find that the overall ride is smooth and the grip is excellent in turns. I also am seeing longer tire life with Michelin tires. Thanks Michelin!

After being a long time Dunlop user on my 07 Road King I felt it was time for a change. I do a lot of long distance riding (TJMX to Vancouver BC in a day or So Cal to Dallas for some BBQ) under some extreme conditions. I was getting about 8000 miles on the rear and 14/16K on the front. I have just under 10K on the set and feel really comfortable to ride back and forth from Ontario to Washington DC and then some. It took a little bit to get used to the superior cornering and grip. It will be interesting to see how the hold up during the hot summer months
