It's a Knobby with Trials Characteristics!

I have been running this tire for 2 years now and I ride AZ desert single tracks, washes, and hard pack with loose sand on top. It's been able to handle all I throw at it. When I switched to tubeless I was so impressed how the tire hooked up even more. I run it at 6 or 7 lbs and drop it to 3 or 4 lbs for slow rocky terrain for the extra grip. 6 to 7 lbs works well for my 240 lbs weight to provide great cornering and braking. I had 1 rock puncture a brand new tire, but a plug fixed it and lasted for the remainder of the tire life. I've ran it at 0 psi with the tubeless after the puncture for 3 more hours and the sidewalls didn't get trashed.

When I didn't have tubeless I averaged 2 rear tires to 1 front tire. With tubeless I get 1 front to 1 rear. I can only say that this tire lasts twice as long now this tubeless. I bought a tire in November and I am replacing it in May. I ride hard for about 4 to 5 hours every weekend.
Pros: :
  • Trails Characteristics
  • long life
  • Excellent Grip (All Terrains)
  • Firm Sidewalls
  • Excellent Cornering
Cons: :
  • Hard to Mount Bead

Great Tire

I ride in an area that there are many sharp rocks and hard to sandy terrain. This is the best tire I have had on my bikes. It doesn't chunk or cut and it maintains the rubber pretty good.

If looks could kill this tire would be charged with murder.

Why? It simply kills it in looks and on the trail.

I ride hard pack mountain terrain sprinkled with loose top soil, massive sharp edge rocks, mud, pooled water, whoops, tree roots, pine needles. In short, a very demanding assortment of soil conditions. This rear tire seems like it wants to tackle anything in it's way. And it does it all with very predictable feedback. That equals confidence. I pair this with a Maxxis IT Desert front. Both on Excell Rims running the TUBliss tire system on a Husky 310. These strong sidewalled tires coupled with the TUBliss system allow for ultra low tire pressures that allow better traction, high speed compress is also enhanced.
Pros: :
  • Great traction in a wide variety of conditions
  • Tough sidewalls prevent pinch flats and work great with the TUBliss setup
  • Great feedback allows for better braking and throttle control
  • Great Value
Cons: :
  • Harder to mount than some of the weaker competitors tires
  • Lack of size selection for 18" rims
