Excellent tire.... Usually

Every so often, you will get a bad tire.... Shinko stands behind the tire. Like the reviewer that had his coming apart at 800 miles, I had this happen. They sent me a new tire that did not have the issue. So I have had 3 rears. 1 had the issue. The stock Dunlop tires lasted 3k miles. The bad Shinko was on for 1k miles. I am at 19k miles on the bike.... I am getting 7k miles on these tires. Run them at 30 psi.
Pros: :
  • Cheap
  • Long Life
  • Well backed up by Shinko
Cons: :
  • Inconsistent Quality

Had a Shinko 244 rear tire on my KLR650 won't be buying anything Shinko again. Though the tire was passable off road & on the rubber was just too soft and pavement will eat them up. This rear was getting bare at the 2500 mile mark. Some tires are cheap as in cost but are good tires others like these are cheap all the way around. But if your bike lives in the garage most of the year or only comes out on the weekends or when the sun is shining then you might like these.

Great tire!

This tire is my go to tire for my KLR they last 4000 miles and feel very stable on the road. I have had the KLR in places that it probably shouldn't be on these tires never an issue. I will buy these until something better and cheaper comes along. I'm a Shinko fan. 705's for touring and some on the cruiser too.
