FULL EXHAUST SYSTEM HIGHLIGHTS:
4-2-1 or 2-1 collector systems are designed for maximum horsepower and torque increases and the efficient delivery of those gains throughout the RPM range.
The key to an efficient system is in the merge collectors. At Two Brothers Racing, their collectors are hand made, 100% TIG welded and optimized for high flow and velocity. A variety of collector lengths, diameters and shapes are used based on application and performance goals for particular models.
Just like all exhaust system components and configurations, the integration of crossover tubes is implemented into Two Brothers Racing exhaust systems only when a performance increase is found through comprehensive track and dyno testing. In some cases, crossover tubes hinder engine performance. You will only see a crossover tube on a Two Brothers Racing exhaust if performance is enhanced.
Mandrel Bent Tube
All Two Brothers Racing systems are created from .035 304 stainless steel or the finest quality CP grade 2 titanium precision bent via their CNC Mandrel Bender with exacting bend tolerances of 0.1 degrees. Headers are mirror polished for a custom finished look.
At Two Brothers Racing, they only use tube diameter transitions from smaller to larger when it meets their performance criteria checklist. The size change can increase power in one area of the powerband and then sacrifice it in another. Steps in header pipes are carefully placed and thoroughly tested in most Two Brothers Racing 4-2-1 systems but only when performance is enhanced across the board.
CNC Machined Flange Collars
CNC Machined Exhaust Port Flange Collars are precision cut from solid chunks of Billet Stainless Steel or Aluminum to provide a precise, leak free fit.
CNC Machined Aluminum Flanges
CNC machined from billet 6061-T6 aluminum and hard anodized for durability and style. Two Brother's Flanges are designed extra thick to eliminate warping and bending under extreme temperature conditions.
Spring Fit Joints
Slip connections are secured with stainless steel swivel hook springs to provide vibration damping, reduce header fatigue and eliminate cracking. They also allow for simplified installation.
Two Brothers Racing M series exhaust canisters feature the highest level of quality construction and are designed to be fully serviceable in the event of damage, routine maintenance or the occasional repack. V.A.L.E.™ slip on/full exhaust systems and flange on systems feature CNC machined aluminum inlets and outlets. These special designs provide for ease of maintenance as well as simplified construction, which is what a premium performance product is all about! The exhaust note produced by all of Two Brothers Racing's top level exhaust systems is best described as being deep and throaty without suffering from the shrill whine normally associated with other manufacturer’s straight through muffler canisters.
V.A.L.E. Fitment (Variable Axis Locking Exhaust)
The V.A.L.E. system is Two Brothers Racing’s revolutionary and patent pending method of attaching muffler canisters to the exhaust tube without the use of springs or welding. Two Brothers Racing V.A.L.E. systems allow the muffler assembly - exhaust tube and canister - to be positioned perfectly on the bike before all the mounting hardware is fully tightened. Once the canister and exhaust tubes are properly aligned, the V.A.L.E. assembly locks the muffler canister to the exhaust tube assuring a perfect, leak free fit. This system is simple and easy to install, requiring nothing more than a 5mm hex wrench, which is included with every one of Two Brothers Racing's exhaust systems. The X-Lite ring is the next step in the evolution of V.A.L.E. technology. CNC milled from 6061-T6 aluminum, the design of Two Brothers Racing's X-Lite ring efficiently and elegantly removes all unnecessary material from the coupling. This reduces the weight of the part while still maintaining its structural integrity.
Strength From Within
Not all cores are created equal. At Two Brothers Racing mufflers are engineered from the core to the cap. They use a stainless steel wound, perforated and corrugated core on all Two Brothers Racing systems. Core diameter and length varies depending on model needs and the desired performance characteristics. The stainless steel spiral core is lighter than traditional cores of the same material and even some of other competition’s titanium cores. The spiral wound process delivers a 2dB sound decrease, further enhancing their uniquely deep sound attenuation.

TBR has been using carbon fiber in motorcycle mufflers since 1992. They are currently the only US company to exclusively use Filament Wound Carbon Fiber (FWCF) on every carbon fiber muffler they sell. Drawn on only the best high temperature resins, and utilize a proprietary lining system adopted from spacecraft, for additional heat resistance. Their FWCF is continuously wound over a precision machined mandrel for a 100% seamless bond. The FWCF tube is then cured in a high temperature autoclave oven for superior strength and heat resistance. These crucial elements meld to form a precision lightweight muffler that will perform as well as it looks.
By weight titanium is one of the world’s strongest readily available alloys, making it ideal for the M series mufflers. It is 45% lighter than steel with comparable strength, and twice as strong as aluminum while being only 60% heavier. That’s right, titanium is heavier than aluminum, but since it is twice as strong TBR is able to use very thin (.024”) material to construct the titanium muffler. The result is a muffler that is about 8.3oz. lighter than the M or C series aluminum mufflers. Titanium has become an industry standard for motorcycle mufflers due to its durability, corrosion resistance, light weight, and factory look.
Aluminum is a very lightweight and strong material used extensively in the aerospace, automotive, and of course, motorcycle industries. Aluminum is a wise choice due to its excellent strength to weight ratio, corrosion resistance, and clean look. TBR uses lightweight, thin-wall .060” extruded 6061 aluminum alloy that is heat treated to a T-6 condition for increased strength, durability, hardness, and finish durability. After the aluminum has been heat treated, it is cut to length and polished to a mirror finish. Ounce for ounce, aluminum is the best value of all the M and C series mufflers. As a rule, aluminum mufflers only weigh about 8.3oz. more than the titanium or carbon fiber mufflers.
